The national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline fell for the third consecutive week, according to data issued this week by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
With a 1.0-cent decrease, the national diesel average is at $3.034, coming on the heels of 0.07-cent and 0.004-cent declines, respectively, over the previous two weeks. The national diesel average has risen twice in the last ten weeks.
Even with this recent stretch of declines, the weekly diesel average has remained above the $3 per gallon mark for the last 24 weeks.
On an annual basis, this week’s average is down 19.2 cents, topping last week’s 17.6-cent decline.
West Texas Intermediate Crude oil is currently trading at $57.14 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
