The Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported this week that the national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline headed down for the fifth time in the last six weeks.
Falling 3.5 cents, the national diesel average is $3.070, following declines of 3.1 cents, 1.5 cents, and 1.2 cents, respectively, over the previous three weeks.
This week also marked the 18th consecutive week that the national diesel average has topped the $3 per gallon mark.
On an annual basis, this week’s average is down 17.4 cents, ahead of annual declines of 16.1 cents and 14.9 cents, respectively, over the previous two weeks.
West Texas Intermediate Crude oil is currently trading at $52.40 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
