With a slight decrease, the national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline fell this week, according to data issued this week by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Decreasing 0.001-cents, this week’s diesel average is $3.050 following a 0.004-cent increase to $3.051 a week ago. Last week’s gain came on the heels of declines of 1.9-cents and 0.015-cents, respectively, over the previous two weeks.
From the week of July 8 through the week of September 9, a seven-week span, the national diesel average fell a cumulative 8.4 cents. And since the week of September 16, when the average was at $2.987, through this week’s $3.051 average, there has been a cumulative gain of 0.064-cents.
On an annual basis, this week’s average is down 33.0 cents.
West Texas Intermediate Crude Oil is currently trading at $54.62 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
