Diesel prices dropped for the sixth consecutive week, according to data issued this week by the the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The average price per gallon was down 0.04 cents to $2.972, with the average price per gallon falling a cumulative 11.4 cents going back to the week of February 5, when it was at $3.086.
And this week also marked the third consecutive week that the average price per gallon was below the $3 mark.
Compared to the same week a year ago, the average price per gallon is up 43.3 cents.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil is currently at $62.61 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
