The national average price per gallon for diesel gasoline dropped for the second straight week, according to data issued this week by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Falling 0.07 cents, the national diesel average is now $3.044, following a 0.004 –cent decline, a 1.3-cent gain, and a 0.001-cent decline, respectively, over the previous three weeks. The national diesel average has risen twice in the last nine weeks.
This marks the 23rd consecutive week that the national diesel average has topped the $3 per gallon per mark.
On an annual basis, this week’s average is down 17.6 cents, trailing last week’s 18.8-cent annual decline.
West Texas Intermediate Crude oil is currently trading at $56.12 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
