Google taps project44 to be initial real-time visibility provider for supply chain platform

Earlier today, Chicago-based supply chain visibility services provider project44 announced a new partnership with global technology giant Google, which is focused on providing shippers with better real-time supply chain visibility.

The company said that through this partnership project44 will become the first strategic partner for real-time transportation visibility to integrate its capabilities into the Google Cloud Supply Chain Twin offering—which optimizes planning and decision-making by orchestrating supply chain data from enterprise business systems, partners, and public sources and enables shippers to bring together data from multiple sources and require less partner integration time than traditional API-based integration—and is a major cog of the Google Supply Chain platform.

And Google’s Cloud supply chain solutions, including the Supply Chain Twin offering, will benefit from increased transportation visibility and reporting provided by project44 provides shippers with visibility into data for shipments after they have left suppliers and also when inventory is in transit between warehouses and manufacturing plants and then eventually customers.

“It’s incredibly validating to be selected as the first strategic visibility partner for Google Cloud and its new Supply Chain Twin solution,” said Jett McCandless, CEO and founder of project44, in a statement. “Taking an integrated, data-first approach to solving the world’s most complex supply chain challenges will have significant benefits for customers who rely on accurate, real-time data to deliver outstanding experiences for their own customers.”

What’s more, project44’s platform supports more than 680 global shippers and logistics service providers and offers visibility into a network comprised of more than 113,500 multimodal carrier integrations and 2.6 million assets, which it said is the largest carrier network in a single platform in the market.

“Today, we announced that project44 has been selected by Google Cloud as the premier visibility partner to power their new Google Supply Chain Digital Twin Initiative, part of the Google supply chain solution ecosystem,” said Thomas Deakins, project44

Senior Vice President-Global Partnerships & Alliances. “After evaluating all options, Google approached project44 to power this partnership based on the breadth of our network and unmatched data quality, making this is a massive distinction for project44 in the market.”

Deakins added that Google approached project44 as it wanted to partner with the world’s leading RTTV (real-time transportation visibility) platform to be a part of their Digital Supply Chain Twin launch.  He also said that the project44 and Google teams have been collaborating for several months to make sure they were ready for Google’s announcement and launch.

Google and project44 have a strong multi-year relationship, which Deakins said is part of project44’s broader Cloud strategy.

When asked to provide an example of the project44 and Google partnership at work, Deakins explained that project44 provides the data foundation to Google's Supply Chain Twin through a native integration providing p44’s visibility data inside of the Google Supply Chain Twin.

“Joint customers can take advantage of the integration with their data from p44 as a foundation for the Google Supply Chain Twin, giving them the ability to use Google’s Supply Chain Twin functionality,” he said.
