The Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported this week that that national average price per gallon of diesel headed up for the fourth consecutive week.
Rising 2.2 cents, this week’s average is at $3.169, following gains of 2.7-cents and 2.5-cents, respectively, the previous two weeks.
This marks the ninth time in the last 11 weeks the national average has seen a gain, and it also marked the 11th consecutive week that the national diesel average has topped the $3 per gallon mark.
Prior to that, the average had been below the $3 per gallon mark for five weeks, and before that stretch, the last time that the national average dipped below the $3 per gallon mark was the week of March 19, 2018, when it was at $2.972.
