Following a weekly gain of nearly $.06 one week ago, the national average price per gallon saw another increase, for the week of November 23, to $2.462 per gallon, according to data issued this week by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).
With a 2.1-cent increase, this week’s national average came in at $2.462, coming on the heels of a 5.8-cent increase, to $2.441, for the week of November 16 and a 1.1-cent gain, to $2.383, for the week ending November 9.
The national average has been below the $3 per gallon mark since the week of February 2, when it posted an average of $2.956.
On an annual basis, this week’s national average is down 60.4 cents, below the 63.3-cent annual spread, for the week of November 16 and the matching 69-cent annual declines, for the weeks ending November 9 and November 2, respectively.
West Texas Intermediate Crude is currently trading at $43.92 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
