Supply chain: CSCMP elects officers, appoints chairs to 2010-2011 board of directors

Keith Turner, vice president marketing and sales, Alcoa World Alumina, has been elected to the office of chair.


Members of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) elected officers and appointed chairs to its 2010-2011 board of directors during the association’s annual business meeting, which was held in conjunction with CSCMP’s 2010 Annual Global Conference in San Diego last month.

Keith Turner, vice president marketing and sales, Alcoa World Alumina, ALCOA, was
elected to the office of chair. At ALCOA, Turner is responsible for managing global commercial activities related to bauxite, smelter and non-metallurgical grade alumina, and aluminum powder. He is also responsible for bulk transportation as president of Alcoa Steamship. Turner was also president of CSCMP’s Central Virginia Roundtable and a member of CSCMP’s Roundtable Advisory Committee.

Robert B. Silverman, vice president, IT business systems for Tommy Hilfiger USA,
Inc., was named to the office of immediate past chair. Silverman oversees IT and supply
chain-related projects, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) initiatives, distribution center operations improvement projects, as well as the launch of the company’s global flagship retail store.

Nancy W. Nix, executive director, EMBA Program and professor of supply chain practice at the MJ Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University (TCU), was elected to the office of board chair elect. Nix provides leadership for TCU’s Executive MBA program, teaches graduate-level courses in global supply chain management and supply chain strategy and has led study-abroad experiences in China, India and Argentina.

Rick J. Jackson, executive vice president, Limited Logistics Services, was elected to
the office of board vice chair. At Limited, he provides strategic direction and leadership for international and domestic logistics, transportation, distribution center operations and supply chain technical services. Previously, Jackson served two years as chief operating officer of Victoria’s Secret Direct and more than 18 years at Kraft/Nabisco in a variety of sales, manufacturing, and logistics positions.

Heather L. Sheehan, corporate director—global logistics, Danaher Corporation, was
elected to the office of secretary and treasurer. At Danaher, she has global responsibility for logistics procurement, strategy, and implementation across Danaher’s 100-plus operating companies. Prior to joining Danaher in 2002, Sheehan worked for Honeywell in the positions of corporate director–global logistics, marketing leader, and polymer division logistics director.

Immediately after the election, CSCMP chair Keith Turner announced the appointment of the remaining chairs that complete the 2010-2011 board of directors slate.
Erika Roberts, director, corporate development for LeanCor LLC was named to the
position of roundtable chair; Jan Willem Proper, associate professor, NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences—International Strategy Chair; Susan Rider, president of Rider & Associates—Member Value Chair; and Ed Huller, president of Alden Consulting, and Kevin F. Smith, president and CEO of Sustainable Supply Chain Consulting, were named to the positions of strategic growth co-chairs.

Chris Moberg, chair marketing department at Ohio University was named to the position
of education strategies chair; Eric Peltz, associate director, national security research division, RAND Corporation—research strategies chair; and Remko van Hoek, chief procurement officer, Cofely the Netherlands and visiting professor, Cranfield School of Management—program chair.

Michael Duffy, executive vice president, global manufacturing and supply chain medical segment, Cardinal Health, and Mary Long, senior director logistics and customer service operations, Campbell Soup Company, were named to the positions of member at large; Theodore Stank, John H. Dove, distinguished professor of logistics and associate dean for executive education at The University of Tennessee—member at large (Certification); Niraj Ambani, president, Reliance Logistics Ltd.—member at large (International); and Sarah Giffin, senior operations improvement manager at CEVA Logistics, and Dana Regan, national account executive at TranzAct Technologies, Inc.—member at large (Young Professional). Rick D. Blasgen serves as president and chief executive officer of CSCMP.
