Beumer’s virtual tool helps simplify sortation technology selection process

Need help visualizing your next sortation solution? The Beumer Group (Booth 4523) has developed a Virtual DC Tool to help attendees determine the right type of sorter for their unique application.

The highly interactive tool first asks a brief series of qualifying questions to narrow down a selection of fulfillment applications—from retail and e-commerce to multi-modal or omni-channel—explained Katie Sisco, marketing manager.

“Based on those answers, the tool shares details about the relevant Beumer sortation solution. We’ve found that it really helps companies see how an automated or semi-automated solution will make a significant impact on the different areas in a facility,” she said.

Video of actual installations and applications is highlighted in the tool, while sample components of Beumer’s cross-belt and tilt-tray systems are on display in the exhibit. Both static and actuated versions of the sorter technologies can be seen.

For attendees who don’t get a chance to try the visualization tool at Modex, the company expects to release a Web-based version of the tool within the next month or two, Sisco added.
