Dachser USA, a subsidiary of Global 3PL Dachser, recently announced it has opened up a 15,000 square-foot facility in Atlanta, Ga.
Company officials said that this new facility, which follows the company’s recent openings in St. Louis and Chicago, is comprised of office and warehouse space with racking to hold 1,000 pallet positions, cross docking, five standard loading docks and one drive-in door bay, as well as an on-site container freight station.
A company spokesperson told LM that the main drivers for this new facility were a consistently growing customer base required a larger warehouse and optimized facility with added workstations, with planning for this facility having begun last year.
Dachser USA did previously have an Atlanta-based location, the company moved to a new facility to accommodate the increasing demand for warehousing and transportation services in the Southeast.
Dacsher will serve more than 300 customers out of this facility across a territory that includes the states of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee, and there is space for 20 employees at this new location.
