Integrated Systems Design’s printer, inserter customizes up to 3,000 documents per hour

Personalized, customized documents can be automatically printed, folded and inserted into their appropriate outbound shipping carton or tote with the new, patented UltraSert-Plus system.

Personalized, customized documents can be automatically printed, folded and inserted into their appropriate outbound shipping carton or tote with the new, patented UltraSert-Plus system. The solution was unveiled by Integrated Systems Design (ISD) in a press conference on Monday in Booth 9534.

“A single unit can print, fold and insert up to 3,000 documents per hour,” explained Ed Romaine, chief marketing officer. “It produces individualized manifests, bills, labels, instructions, return merchandise authorizations, and promotional materials for direct-to-customer shipping or retail store replenishment.”

To ensure that the right paperwork goes into the right box, multiple bar code scanners and readers are integrated with controls. “Every order is scan verified, eliminating the errors associated with handling this process manually—which, up until now, has been the way most facilities do this task,” Romaine added.

The system can be used either in-line or in parallel configurations in both new and retrofit installations. UltraSert systems start at under $30,000—plus installation—Romaine noted that the return on investment can take as little as 6 months to a year, depending on shipment volumes.
