Wynright acquires BoxLogix Automation’s Software and Controls Group

Combined resources will enhance Wynright’s warehouse automation software development capabilities to help increase innovation while accelerating speed-to-market.

Wynright Corporation, a leading independent, U.S.-based provider of intelligent material handling systems, announced that, effective today, it has agreed to acquire the Software and Controls Group of BoxLogix Automation, a Wisconsin-based systems integrator with more than 20 years of experience developing turnkey systems for high-volume distribution facilities.

The people and assets of the Software and Controls Group will remain in their current location in Cincinnati, Ohio, following a strategy Wynright has set in past acquisitions. BoxLogix will continue to provide mechanical material handling engineering and design services out of their Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin office.

The addition of the new technology and personnel is designed to complement Wynright’s current software and controls engineering services, enhancing the company’s development capacity and bench strength in this critical area while increasing its speed-to-market. The combined group will be supporting the completion of Wynright’s new Wynsoft warehouse automation software suite, which is scheduled to release early fall, 2013. It will then be tasked with developing new and better ways to help clients manage the ever-increasing complexities surrounding the modern warehouse and distribution center.

“Clients are looking to gain efficiencies throughout their fulfillment, distribution and manufacturing facilities, and that requires a degree of software sophistication beyond any they may have had in the past,” said Ron Adams, senior vice president, Wynright Software & Controls Solutions. “Well-designed fully integrated software and controls solutions can provide visibility into the entire facility as a single unit, rather than an aggregate of different components, helping our clients reduce operating expense and maximize the return on their assets. BoxLogix Automation has an outstanding track record of developing intelligent materials handling software and controls solutions. We believe our combined efforts will set a new standard in the industry. We are happy to welcome their employees to the Wynright family of companies.”
