For the week of April 4, the national diesel average came in at $5.144 per gallon, down $0.041 compared to the week of March 28, which was at $5.185 per gallon. This marks the second decline in the last three weeks, with a $0.051-cent gain, for the week of March 28 preceded by and $0.116-cent decline, to $5.134, for the week of March 21.

For the week of March 28, the national diesel average came in at $5.185 per gallon, increasing $0.051 cents over the week of March 21, which was at an average of $5.134.

National diesel average trends down but remains above $5 per gallon
Coming in at $5.134 per gallon, the national average fell $0.116 cents below the all-time high set, for the week of March 14, at $5.250 per gallon. These are the only two weeks to eclipse the $5 per gallon mark as per EIA data.

National diesel average tops the $5 per gallon mark, setting a new record
Another week brings another new record high for the average price per gallon of diesel gasoline. That was made clear in data issued this week by the United States Energy Information Administration (EIA), which showed that the national diesel average, for the week of March 14, set a new record and topped the $5 per gallon mark, for the first time ever, coming in at $5.250 per gallon.

The national average, for the week of March 7, came in at $4.849 per gallon, a new high, according to EIA data, topping the previous record, of $4.764, which was set the week of July 14, 2008.

EIA reports national diesel average again tops $4 per gallon mark
The national average, for the week of February 28, increased $0.049, to $4.104 per gallon, eclipsing the $4 per gallon marks for the third consecutive week. This comes on the heels of a $0.036-cent increase, to $4.055, for the week of February 21, and a $0.68-cent increase, to $4.019 per gallon, for the week of February 14.

This national average, for the week of February 21, headed up $0.036 cents, to $4.055 per gallon, topping the $4 per gallon mark for the second straight week. This marks the second time the national diesel average topped the $4 per gallon mark, following a $0.68-cent increase, to $4.019 per gallon, for the week of February 14. Prior to these last two weeks, the national diesel average had not been above the $4 per gallon mark since the week of March 17, 2014, when it came in at $4.003 per gallon.

The national average price per gallon for diesel gasoline saw its sixth straight week of strong gains, according to data issued this week by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).

With a 10.5-cent increase, the national average, for the week of February 7, came in at $3.951, following a 6.6-cent increase, to $3.846, for the week of January 31.

Rising 5.5 cents, the national diesel average, for the week of January 24, came in at $3.780 per gallon, on the heels of a 6.8-cent increase, to $3.725, for the week of January 17.
