There’s a new curriculum on the books at Paul D. Camp Community College (http://www.pdc.edu) in Franklin, Va. The warehousing and distribution center certificate program, an entry-level curriculum designed to equip students and potential employees with the specialized skills needed to work in these operations, was established in response to the development of the Port of Virginia. As port growth continues, it’s expected that multiple warehouses and distribution centers will be drawn to the area, resulting in the demand for skilled workers. “We want to develop a qualified entry-level workforce for those facilities,” said Bob Hayes, the college’s work force development coordinator.
