UPS’s acquisition of MNX Global Logistics is a done deal

Following a late-September announcement in which it announced it acquired Long Beach, Calif.-based global time-critical logistics services provider MNX Global Logistics, Atlanta-based global freight transportation and logistics service provider UPS said today, that effective November 2, the deal is now official.

A purchase price was not disclosed.

UPS officials said that MNX has a proven track record of delivering critical goods reliably and promptly.

“Their expertise in transporting radiopharmaceuticals and temperature-sensitive products perfectly complements UPS Healthcare and its clinical trial logistics subsidiary, Marken,” said UPS. “Together, we will be better equipped to meet the growing demand for these specialized services in the healthcare industry. With MNX’s additional expertise, UPS will continue to offer industry-leading global service to customers who need time-critical, temperature-sensitive logistics solutions. The acquisition of MNX is part of UPS's ongoing strategy to invest in new technologies and capabilities, providing customers with the most reliable and efficient logistics solutions possible.” 

The company added that bringing MNX into the fold also significantly enhances UPS’s capabilities in time-critical logistics, especially for U.S.-, Europe-, and Asia-based customers.

A UPS spokeswoman told LM that by joining forces with MNX, UPS continues to demonstrate its commitment to investing in new technologies and capabilities, ensuring that our customers receive the most reliable and efficient logistics solutions available.

“We are proud to offer industry-leading global service to customers who require time-critical, temperature-sensitive logistics solutions,” she said.

At its Sell-Side Analyst Breakfast in September, UPS said that MNX will be combined with UPS Express Critical.

“By utilizing their expertise in time-critical, temperature-controlled and security-sensitive transport together with UPS’s global network, we will become even more efficient and be able to reach new markets and customers, including the radio-pharma sector,” said UPS.  

MNX CEO John Labrie said in a statement, when the deal was initially announced, that MNX is excited to combine its expertise with UPS to offer the best time-critical logistics solutions to customers around the world.
