3PL boosts narrow aisle performance

Lift truck fleet impresses with advanced ergonomics, reliability and battery life.

For more than 40 years, Regal Logistics has served as a leading third-party logistics provider (3PL). Supported by 1.3 million square feet of high-velocity distribution facilities space, Regal serves retailers including Walmart, Target, Amazon and Kohl’s.

Regal offers a comprehensive program of distribution, transportation and value-added services from port to end consumption point for companies that manufacture in Asia.

The 3PL has an advanced online shipment tracking system featuring advanced dashboard, warehouse management system (WMS), electronic data interchange (EDI) and radio frequency identification (RFID) to streamline the supply chain, provide high-quality customer service and support and satisfy retailers’ standards for packaging, labeling and on-time performance.

In the same way, Regal relies on its sophisticated freight-handling equipment to streamline warehouse operations within its bicoastal DCs.

Following an on-site dealer consultation to ensure the correct selection of products, Regal added three turret trucks and four orderpickers to replace the existing fleet.

When the company upgraded its existing fleet of narrow aisle warehouse products, Randy Neeves, vice president of operations and technology at Regal, says it soon became clear the new lift trucks are faster, smoother, quieter, more comfortable and experience less downtime. They also operate for two shifts without a battery change.

“The operators appreciate the machines and their stability going up to the highest level,” says Neeves. “The lift trucks are very stable, even with a large, heavy load. They’re very quiet and fast, making it enjoyable for the operator.”

The fourth-generation AC technology turret trucks and order pickers use energy reclamation through regenerative braking and lowering. Regal’s operators have also commented on the design and ergonomics.
